Betting on Virtual Worlds

Tech Crunch reported today that CEO - Sibley Verbeck of the Electric Sheep Company has created a new virtual world application called WebFlock

WebFlock is different than Second Life in that it is a flash based 3-D virtual application, where as Second Lilfe taps into ActiveX. However it looks like WebFlock will be targetting businesses so they can integrate their 3-D worlds into different web-sites.

The question to ask, will these virtual worlds really take off on the Web? Or is this one big Video Game? What we can take of this is that Sibley Verbeck is betting that Virtual Worlds is the way of the future and he is betting on it in a big way!
